Re: FreeMW

Porting from Skyrim will likely be as hard, if not harder, to port animations from as any other software, I am not knowledgeable regarding the specifics of the animations, but very few files in skyrim carry any sort of resemblance to their morrowind counterpart. To convert animations made with tools...

Re: Multiplayer Arena

Imagine this in Morrowind, I imagine coop mode could be implemented via special save games, when you save in coop mode, you can't load that save in singleplayer, both the host and user have to load it. I would prefer dealing with saves as most coop rpgs do, having one main save file, on which all p...

Re: Playthrough observations

If the solution would be a mod, then maybe some sort of"Official openMW mod" that fixes this (and any other similar bugs that is not directly related to the engine.) could be included with the engine? Since the mod will likely be developed independently from openmw it might not be wise to include i...

Re: Smoother cell transitions

And still that is OpenMWs problem and not a problem of the system since the original old and shabby Morrowind engine with some hackish tools on top runs the same data just fine with almost as much eye candy activated as possible. And if the code isn't optimized to run on Windows systems it still is...

Re: Playthrough observations

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure if flushing out all changes to positions after traveling would be a good idea, seems more realistic to perform a check before each animation to make sure the actors stay in the same location and reset them according to that, the resulting animation may come out a bit more...

Re: 3D editing

A slight feature I would like to request when it comes to key functionality would be firstly have a key dedicated to temporarily switch to, say, the edit function. For example say i bind this temporary switch to the space key, that would mean that, whilst I am holding down spacebar, the functionalit...

Re: OpenMW Nightly builds

In my case it seems that the file gpu2doperation.material can't be found. The problem is persistent on both the old 64bit build and the new 32bit build that Ace just posted. Edit: Strangely enough OpenCS seems to work flawlessly. Edit2: Sorry, it seems my problem is unrelated to the builds, but rath...

Re: Importing/exporting heightmap

Wow, and here comes Lightwave himself, that is awesome. With the integration of TESAnnwyn, opencs really will be starting to come together as an integral part in mw modding. I'm looking forward to seeing your implementation Psi, and also any sort of cooperation with Lightwave, and the members of the...

Re: Playthrough observations

I'm not sure if saving animation state is a good idea in general. When you leave a cell and come back after days (or months) of game-time, you wouldn't expect the actor to be in the exact pose as when you left. I honestly can't tell how that would be an issue, unless something is done to change the...

Re: Importing/exporting heightmap

I'm glad to hear that it's being worked on, I look forward to being able to make more use of opencs.
