Re: Support for Quad and Six core processors & hyperthreadin

Consider also that a hotfix could be called something like 0.29.0a in theory (though I don't know if OpenMW does this in practice, since they do have that extra final thing). The separators are for legibility; version 29 doesn't say all that much about what a program is, because there's not any inhe...

Re: Morrowind, Oblivion, or others ways what do you like mor

I think I've actually seen that (or an unrelated one); it seems like a perfectly logical solution. That said, I'm not sure that I'd actually care to have a Morrowind with VR-style input; I'd prefer a more animated solution to the current system that simply makes combat look more dramatic over someth...

Re: Behold! the Bloodmoon is upon us!!!

There was dust in the air where I live, so we had a "sepia moon". Apparently we missed out on the moon looking unusual because we're in the middle of a desert.

Re: OpenMW multicore support

I get triple digit DX framerates and double-digit OGL framerates; unlike the original Morrowind's CPU bottlenecking OpenMW seems to have a GPU bottleneck.

Re: Morrowind, Oblivion, or others ways what do you like mor

The main gripe I have with Die by the Sword is that it's essentially impossible to play. Though now such a game may actually be feasible because of the decreasing cost of VR and stuff like the Wiimote that can be used to get position/rotation data from physical manipulation.

Re: How would I get OpenMW working?

The Morrowind Code Patch is to my knowledge just a stability enhancer (I use it myself). It shouldn't cause incompatibilities, at least not in 99% of cases, and most of those will just be a little functionality shift. MWSE will explicitly not work, and mods are not compatible. There are no plans for...

Re: Morrowind, Oblivion, or others ways what do you like mor

In terms of being faster, Skyrim's combat was a step in the right direction, but Skyrim felt very floaty to me; you didn't see a lot of staggering (IMO) unless you took a ton of damage. I also liked the idea that you no longer had to really mess around with stuff a ton to get a decent dual wielding ...

Re: [post-1.0] SmartBody - character animation system for Og

Speaking as someone who's not competent enough to take on a serious project, but did do a semester of animation as part of a class, it really depends on the quality of the mo-cap to the model with rigging. If either the model, mo-cap, or rigging decide to be wonky, you're not actually going to be mu...

Re: Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim ways what do you like mo

did you try Daggerfall setup ? It gave me a superstable game easily. Do anyone ever played games like Cute Knight , it is a quite different kind of game and the fighting system is quite ugly. But I found interesting you can roleplay very different kind of characters and do menial jobs like cleaning...

Re: [post-1.0] SmartBody - character animation system for Og

Theoretically, it would be possible to proxy tails as physics objects to a normal human mocap, but this has a number of downsides; they would have to be highly tuned to reflect accurate movement and the original mocap may need scaling and adjustment to look realistic.
