Very nice. We should try to add some secondary sources to avoid speedy deletion.

Edit: Added a bunch of references.

Re: Cant access bug reporting area

That particular bug has already been reported, and it will be fixed in the next release which is currently in RC phase.

As for the bug tracker registration, make sure the activation email wasn't caught it your spam filter. The subject line should be "Your OpenMW account activation".

That's Star-Demon. He's not been around since 2012, sadly.

Re: PSA: scrawl's Patreon

Isn't that what is happening here? No one here is personally nor directly benefited by scrawl in sending him gifts/donations. He works on what wants to work on when he wants to, with no expectations. It is plain old "good will". Well, I can only speak for myself here, but I certainly expect scrawl ...

Re: PSA: scrawl's Patreon

There need not exist a contract for a gift to be considered onerous. The question is what the intention of the gifter is. Again using Swedish law, there must exist gåvoavsikt (roughly "intention to gift") on the part of the gifter for the gift to be considered outright. Again, the criterion for this...

Re: PSA: scrawl's Patreon

We are not 'hiring' scrawl to work on OpenMW, we are donating (sending gifts) so that he can work on open-source projects... not exclusively OpenMW. In Sweden for example, there is no gift tax. In Swedish law, gifts must be outright (sv. benefik) to be considered as such in a legal sense. That mean...

Re: PSA: scrawl's Patreon

Pledged $15 per month. Not sure why I need to pay VAT, since it's a donation rather than a service being bought. Well, since scrawl is not a registered charity he is basically just providing a service like any other. From a tax perspective, paying him to work on OpenMW is no different from hiring a...

Re: PSA: scrawl's Patreon

Why not just send it directly via PayPal? Patreon takes quite a cut for themselves. So does PayPal. Their rates are a bit harder to parse than Patreon's (which is a flat rate of 5%), but if I'm reading their terms of use correctly, the fee on a $10 (8.89€) payment made via credit card would be 3% +...

PSA: scrawl's Patreon

For those (like me) who only read scrawl's blog irregularly but check this forum daily, his Patreon site is now up and accepting patrons! Let's see if we can't get back to the same funding levels we reached before summer!

Never liked that expression, myself. There are many free products where the users are not being sold to anyone. OpenMW, to name one.
