Re: OpenMW 0.43.0

I got a report that our download link for the Gentoo package leads to an error page. Does anyone have any information regarding this issue?

Re: Scripting problem: RemoveItem

Yes it does. In OpenMW all arguments can be expressions of arbitrary complexity. This obviously includes single variables.

Re: Logic and (&&) is unsupported?

and there's usually another complaint, too, but I can't remember what it is right now. Security. Many languages have problems with sandboxing, so you could theoretically get viruses from OpenMW mods. At the risk of sounding like Torvald: Not just no, but *FUCKING HELL NO* . Most problems with sandb...

Re: Time passing while in some menus

Please lets not add anymore options pre-1.0 that should be done post-1.0. This will only create more work for everyone later on. But it is a good idea. I will add it to my post 1.0 design document (almost at 50 pages now, definitely more than half done). To be clear, this would not just be a simple ...

Re: 2018

I don't think we have the capacity to do that properly (mentors and all). Besides these kind of things need to be prepared properly and since GSoC 2018 is already in sign-up phase that is definitely not an option for us.

2018

New year, new thread. I would say I don't want to jinx it, if I were to believe in this kind of nonsense. But I don't and therefore I can say it openly: I think 2018 will be the year of the OpenMW 1.0 release. I am still on track with my work on the post 1.0 concept. I should be ready to release it ...

Try it out (in OpenMW) and if the problem exist, file a bug report?

Re: Resources and hints for understanding "duration"?

The time between the start of running the main loop for the previous frame and the start of running the main loop for the current frame. Quite simple, actually.

The main loop is a good place to start reading code (OMW::Engine::go, while loop marked with // Start the main rendering loop).

Re: Do we support libbullet 2.83?

I think there was an issue with 2.83. I don't remember what it was, but it was severe enough to force me to update (which is something I generally don't do unless it is absolutely necessary). 2.86 should do as lower bound.
