Re: OpenMW 0.44.0

Looks like tackling the Windows issue isn't on the table for 0.44.0 (since we won't get more relevant testing any time soon). This is a long standing issue that only affects a limited amount of users and I don't see it as a blocker. Seems the blocker is actually the lack of an MacOS build.

Re: The Future of OpenMW Scripting

You are welcome to join in on the design team, once we are ready to move forward. Just want to point out one thing: Even an attempt at compatibility would make MWSE at most a subset OpenMW. There are improvements on the post 1.0 roadmap that just won't be possible without full source access to the a...

Re: The Future of OpenMW Scripting

The script support for de-hardcoding features will be implemented in newscript. I don't intend to rewrite the design document. The scripting section is only 14 pages long anyway (of 81) and most of the functionality in it is relevant for newscript too. That's why we are not moving forward yet with n...

Re: The Future of OpenMW Scripting

Well, I am not happy with this turn of events. I elaborated extensively why I think it is a bad idea. But trying to force my own opinion though is unlikely to result in anything good in this situation, so newscript and most likely Lua it is.

Re: The Future of OpenMW Scripting

That is a far future topic. A translator would be a major undertaking. Not on the table, short-term. But if and when we get to it we will run the translation on the fly, i.e. both in OpenMW and OpenMW-CS.

Re: The Future of OpenMW Scripting

I don't think Zini would be able to dedicate the effort to spearhead such a project himself whilst also acting as the project lead. Actually, I had planned to see if I can take a week off for this (possibility of that would have been highly depending on the timing of 1.0). That would have been enou...

Re: OpenMW 0.44.0

Main goal "mod compatibility" => Clarification regarding MWSE, possible LUA support, etc. Still in discussion / early planning stage. Too early to mention it to the public. OpenMW and Morrowind => OpenMW will always provide backward compatibility Nothing has changed in this regard. We aim to provid...

Re: Segmentation fault when running launcher

Running under the debugger and getting a stack backtrace is usually the first step.
