Re: Post 1.0 Planning Update

Update: I have finished the draft and I am sitting on 77 pages now. I have already noticed several things that need to be improved. Will start the first revision next week. Seems we are still on schedule.

Re: Openmw warnings

Just a thought. Vanilla MW does not need these settings, which would make them optional. Can we distinguish what is and what is not an optional fallback setting? If the answer is yes, then the solution would be to add a flag to the function for retrieving fall back settings that marks them as option...

Re: Terrain Editing

Remember that land and land texture records need to be in the same content file; meaning if you modify a cell that was in base it is pulled into modified (automatically). But in this case you also need to pull the required land texture records into modified. I believe the command you mentioned is re...

Re: New OpenMW-CS Icons

Open the search window, set the type to ID, enter the ID of a topic. The result list will show the topic, including the icon, which apparently matched the icon for topic info in current master. That's not optimal.

Re: Terrain Editing

The heightmap is more complex than the textures (both from a data structure point and regarding the required editing tools). Once you finish up the texture editing and if you still want to continue, I strongly suggest you do the selection mechanism first; starting with texture tile selection and the...

Re: Post 1.0 Planning Update

Regarding graphics: That is one reason why I want to hand over the document to scrawl before we publish it, because graphics aren't my strong point and he is our resident expert on that topic. Sure, I could write a blurb on that topic. I suppose most of my evil plans can already be gleaned from lit...

Re: Terrain Editing

I've tried to press every button in CS, but only window I find is Preferences. Pressing "Add new record" button in almost any "Edit record" view also changes the view slightly as it opens up a dialog, but I don't know if this is what you mean. Examples would be helpful, or perhaps a clarification o...

Re: Terrain Editing

Thanks for the video. Very helpful. I was about to test your code myself, but I can already see the remaining issues now. We don't allow permanently open UI windows like that. The window is supposed to be transient. And the texture dropping is meant to aim for the toolbar button, not the buttons in ...

Re: Terrain Editing

Uhm, lots of stuff. Too much to go into every detail. But I'll try to pick out the important parts. In data.cpp command addColumn is adding those columns to mLand. I've backtraced that IdCollection holds std::vector<Column<ESXRecordT> *>mColumns, and addColumn uses push_back to append data to that v...

Re: Beginners' questions: Understanding OpenMW/OpenCS code

Correct. There are apparently a few concerns about stability issues with 3.6. I don't think we can make it mandatory now. The feature of showing the texture on the button is optional. I suggest we put it on hold for now. We can add it in later if the situation has changed/cleaned up.
