Re: Terrain Editing

We still don't have a selection mechanism and there is still the elephant in the room, namely the issue of transit changes. Building complete macros for drag&drop operations (transit changes?) should be implemented now. https://github.com/OpenMW/openmw/pull/1680 . That would work for the texture ed...

Re: New OpenMW-CS Icons

The topics table contains the list of keywords that can be used in dialogues (the right column of the dialogue window). That is for the type topic. The other 3 sub-types are just stuff that the MW developer forced into the same table, which is a design we are stuck with unfortunately. OpenMW-CS does...

Re: Terrain Editing

Wow, complex issue. I haven't given much thought to the terrain editing tools yet. Your ideas sound mostly reasonable. But there need to go a lot more design work into it before we can get started with the implementation. I feel it is a bit early for that. We still don't have a selection mechanism a...

Re: Post 1.0 Planning Update

I'll do at least one revision. But maybe there will be a need for a second pass. Afterwards I'll hand it over to scrawl, so he can add his own stuff and make necessary adjustments. Once this is done we make the document public.

Re: Post 1.0 Planning Update

Update: I have finished the draft and I am sitting on 77 pages now. I have already noticed several things that need to be improved. Will start the first revision next week. Seems we are still on schedule.

Re: Openmw warnings

Just a thought. Vanilla MW does not need these settings, which would make them optional. Can we distinguish what is and what is not an optional fallback setting? If the answer is yes, then the solution would be to add a flag to the function for retrieving fall back settings that marks them as option...

Re: Terrain Editing

Remember that land and land texture records need to be in the same content file; meaning if you modify a cell that was in base it is pulled into modified (automatically). But in this case you also need to pull the required land texture records into modified. I believe the command you mentioned is re...

Re: New OpenMW-CS Icons

Open the search window, set the type to ID, enter the ID of a topic. The result list will show the topic, including the icon, which apparently matched the icon for topic info in current master. That's not optimal.

Re: Terrain Editing

The heightmap is more complex than the textures (both from a data structure point and regarding the required editing tools). Once you finish up the texture editing and if you still want to continue, I strongly suggest you do the selection mechanism first; starting with texture tile selection and the...

Re: Post 1.0 Planning Update

Regarding graphics: That is one reason why I want to hand over the document to scrawl before we publish it, because graphics aren't my strong point and he is our resident expert on that topic. Sure, I could write a blurb on that topic. I suppose most of my evil plans can already be gleaned from lit...
