Re: Linux Questions: GPU/CPU Monitor...... Tes Construction Set

If you're installing mods properly, as described here https://openmw.readthedocs.io/en/master/reference/modding/mod-install.html, you should only have one mod in each directory, and so shouldn't end up with two versions of the same asset in the same directory (as it would be very weird for a mod to...

Re: Linux Questions: GPU/CPU Monitor...... Tes Construction Set

I'm pretty sure OpenMW has a setting to ignore filesystem case. That's probably easier than renaming everything. Then I did not make myself clear. Example: Mod 1 has the file tx_land_darkstone02.dds. Mod 2 has the file Tx_land_DarkStone02.DDS. Both files are in the same folder if one does not take ...

Re: Linux Questions: GPU/CPU Monitor...... Tes Construction Set

One thing not related to your main question, but on your Linux switch in general: Linux has case sensitive file names. Most mod authors use a wild mix of lower and upper case file names in their textures and meshes. So if you want to install, for example, a huge texture replacement mod, with normal ...

Re: Followers of shadows, the day has come!

Currently I'm running with a view distance of 14285 and an exterior cell load distance of 2. Seems to be a good balance at the moment, but I've not tested it much outside of Seyda Neen. I used 13000 and 2 for a few days, but it was still too much for my taste. I played Morrowind many years ago and ...

Re: Followers of shadows, the day has come!

Yes, increased view distance seriously borks the shadows. They even sway a lot more when the distance is set higher. At this point, it seems like an either/or situation: shadows or extended view. To be honest, I have significantly reduced viewing distance again, not so much for performance or shado...

Re: Followers of shadows, the day has come!

That is not the correct setting. too long; didn't write: see documentation . I can't really see a difference between your link and the settings suggested by CMAugust: You should copy them from the shadows commit instead and see if that works, as those settings on the wiki are seriously out of date ...

Re: Followers of shadows, the day has come!

Hmmm. Eanbled shadows in the settings.cfg file, but no shadows appearing in the latest MacOS nightly. Is there something else I need to do other than set [Shadows] enabled = true Please read what CMAugust wrote a few posts above: (for one thing, it's now "enable shadows" instead of simply...

You should copy them from the shadows commit instead and see if that works, as those settings on the wiki are seriously out of date (for one thing, it's now "enable shadows" instead of simply "enabled"). Thank you!!! Shadows do work with these settings, no issues so far! Really ...

Re: Followers of shadows, the day has come!

I'd just use a daily for a few hours and if nothing terrible happens, continue using that and just skip 0.45 if you don't mind risking minor bugs appearing here and there. Okay :) So, I've downloaded 0.46 via the PPA and the game itself runs fine so far. I was unable to activate shadows, though. In...

Re: Followers of shadows, the day has come!

0.45.0 was feature freezed in the beginning of November. Ah, I assume that shadows won't be part of 0.45 then. Is there somewhere a feature list of what 0.45 will bring? I am considering trying to install the daily build PPA, just out of curiosity (but am afraid of destroying my working 0.44 instal...
