Re: Fix The Lady Lover and Steed Birthsigns
In my opinion, Issue #1751 is a perfect example of a case where OpenMW should definitely offer an option to have either behaviour , as there are clearly people with different preferences. To summarise: There are obviously people who believe that Vanilla Behaviour of Abilities is better. There are re...

Re: OpenMW future plans and MCP features?
It seems that this forum is becoming the place for everyone who doesn't contribute to give their opinion about what should or shouldn't OpenMW do; without even bothering reading the previous debates. Maybe we should put some items in the FAQ about MGE/MCP/MWSE/… :/ Speaking just for myself, I do ho...

Re: OpenMW future plans and MCP features?
I'd just like to mention that implementing all of the MCP/MGE XE features ( as options ) in the future is very important in my opinion, too. I presented a more thorough explanation in my own thread, but basically, for some people not having an option to enable some MCP/MGE XE feature that they consi...

Re: Fix The Lady Lover and Steed Birthsigns
Correct. It does this in Oblivion as well. I hope it won't be overlooked then, when the time comes to fix Issue #1751. I hadn't yet seen anyone mention that it also applies to Skills, so I brought it up. The problem I see is that with vanilla behavior, Ability fortify effects do little more than ca...

Re: The only way to replace Vanilla Engine (IMHO)
[*]Multiplayer (we are still in the future). This is actually a feature that could convince some of the people who were otherwise unconvinced. However, I'd argue that a lot of people don't care about multiplayer, and this is likely even more true among those who play Morrowind than among those who ...

Re: The only way to replace Vanilla Engine (IMHO)
MGSO already works for the most part with the regular mods it contains. You just need to patch the fake bump mapped mods basically. Maybe something else too, haven't tried it myself, but several people have reported that it works except for shiny rocks and similar. So what is left? Well, MGSO insta...

Re: The only way to replace Vanilla Engine (IMHO)
To moderators: I just wanted to reply to a comment in the other thread, but while I was typing it got locked, so I thought to post my reply here as I think my reply is relevant to this thread. If you disagree and think this comment shouldn't be here, I don't mind if you move or even delete it (I hop...

Re: The only way to replace Vanilla Engine (IMHO)
At some point, we'll have to deploy a captcha about C++ trivia to prevent people with a lot of opionated ideas from posting passive-aggressive advices/rants I guess… Or maybe a bot that auto-closes with "OpenMW is open-sauce, we'll be happy to review your pull requests, thank you.". My po...

Re: The only way to replace Vanilla Engine (IMHO)
While I kind of agree that the original post was a bit long and had bit too little of the thought "wait, maybe these guys already thought about most of this", TamrielCitizen has been polite all the time, so I also agree with you fully that this was too harsh. So TamrielCitizen, if anyone ...

Re: The only way to replace Vanilla Engine (IMHO)
There's a lot of stuff that MWSE, MCP and MGE XE do that, in general, is really stupid, but (because they didn't have source access to the original engine or because the original engine does something really stupid) is the least stupid option available. OpenMW wants to achieve the best possible app...
