Re: Native Animated Containers and Graphics Herbalism support
Since i opened the bug i'm clearly on the side of 'this should be engine stuff'. Currently, certain - but not all - of the mods that target a 'class' of objects to attach scripts are a very common source incompatibilities. In the case of animated containers, because it targets all containers, it int...

Re: CPU and Single Core Implications
Beyond the Morrowind optimization patch this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45399?tab=files also helps more if you're GPU bound (because they redo the models to be able to use a texture atlas) It means it needs to load nearly last, because other mesh replacers would ruin the mojo, and...

Re: Constant 60 FPS but annoying micro-stuttering
If that was the case then disabling the script (or the mod) would 'resolve' the issue right? This isn't the solution but it is a way narrow down if that is indeed the root cause. I've not seen any concrete ways in this thread to reproduce the issue. Not everyone sees this issue. Actually a old tric...

Re: Constant 60 FPS but annoying micro-stuttering
Isn't stuttering more likely to be because something that doesn't use delta-time like a script or a busy loop blocking the graphics thread than the game loop? Especially if it only happens in a heavily modded game.
edit: read the whole op finally. Well, textures shouldn't do that.

Re: OnActivate is broken
And here comes the sarcasm. It's quite clear what's happening here 'we won't do anything because we're going to change everything (in 2 to 10 years) . About your idea to 'abandon' the (i hope) misleadingly named 'local' scripts, that only make me sure i'll never mod for TES3MP. Any mod that opens a ...

Re: Recent Negativity Regarding OpenMW
Ugh, please don't 'fix' #1751. I think it's the only reason Natural Character Growth and Decay even works on openmw. May be mistaken though. To me it's literally the most important one though. It has the most impact on the experience of new players who barely understand how the game works. If there...

Re: Recent Negativity Regarding OpenMW
OpenMW literally just is not ready for this kind of pressure. It barely functions as a replacement for Morrowind's engine, despite being better in certain ways. There are too many bugs to fix and there's too much missing functionality to add. Just look at my signature. Ugh, please don't 'fix' #1751...

Re: Recent Negativity Regarding OpenMW
Maybe now that MWSE has a LUA interface itself, it may end up deprecating those ugly setreference / getreference functions, so that's probably something of a bullet dodged, not that i was ever asking for that. If their engine hacking gets more effective they may end up getting rid of the (horrible) ...

Re: Recent Negativity Regarding OpenMW
Look, I see no reason whatsoever why the Lua functions would replicate any of the strangeness of the MWScript functions. I can only personally speak for the ones in TES3MP, which have completely separate and unrelated implementations of everything. A good thought, but a bit lacking in specifics. Be...

Re: Recent Negativity Regarding OpenMW
Well, if as it is obvious you aren't going to move forward and simply implement a version of the function on MWScript even though it would take zero effort from you (same deal with Modstat and others) because of the fragmentation boogieman you're already suffering from and no one cares but you, what...
