Re: The Future of OpenMW Scripting

I guess the question is whether or not it would be easier to have oldscript and newscript as parallel APIs or if it would be better to have an oldscript to newscript conversion process (either during runtime or as part of the mod installation process). My thought is that having parallel APIs that do...

OpenMW code, bug tracker, and wiki are now on GitLab!

One pain point for OpenMW has been that contributing means signing up for multiple accounts. Notably, our repository, bug tracker, and wiki are on completely separate servers with separate login processes. Additionally, some developers prefer GitHub due to its popularity and some prefer GitLab due t...

Re: New Font Implementation

Although I'd avoid things like the Daedric font since they're obviously TES-specific. We'll just say that we're including the language of vampires from the TV show Sanctuary ! :D Seriously, episode 3x16 "Awakening" had involved a character translating ancient vampire text that was a completely unal...

Re: Free-licensed game in OpenMW engine?

If we're arguing the pros and cons of capitalism and copyright systems, rather than free-licensed games in the OpenMW engine, maybe this should be moved to Off-Topic?

Re: New Font Implementation

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's slightly out of scope of what the project wants to do. Obviously this wouldn't be hard, but I feel like we've been trying to stay away from including content with OpenMW (of which I think fonts would be considered). If it's just the fonts, I would be in f...

Re: Heads up...

Just to be clear, if we don't have a preference one way or the other, is there one that you all would prefer that we use? Both GitHub and GitLab can accept code contributions equally. GitLab has the additional convenience of having the issue tracker there. But in terms of the project itself, the go...

Re: New Font Implementation

There are two TrueType fonts available that replace the original fonts; one for the standard text and one for Daedric. Is that what you're looking for?

Re: Free Software vs Open Source

Open Source suggest that it is a good development methodology to lincense software under the GPL or other Free Software licences. If your open source software is under a free software license, then your software *is* both open source and free software. I don't see why these need to be at odds with ...

Re: Heads up...

Looks like all of my issues and comments got reported as "Redmine User". I'm guessing it's too late to change those? No biggie if that's the case.

Also, might want to change the Redmine User to have an image aside from that of one of our users.

Re: OpenMW 0.45.0

There's been enough written in other threads about people's feelings towards Microsoft. I'd rather that this topic stay focused on OpenMW 0.45.0. Which is going well by the way. Currently 42 closed issues!
