Re: OpenMW port to ps4

Why is it an issue to link with (but not distribute) a proprietary library? Is it a restriction in our GPLv3 license?

Re: Elder Scrolls: VI

Sure, it's not really an issue to have vagueness or ambiguity. The problem comes in when people outright deny what can be shown in lore because they have a crazy idea that there's no evidence for in lore, and it's just as valid because it's wholly up to interpretation. Most fandoms have this proble...

Re: Elder Scrolls: VI

Considering MK liked to throw in the really esoteric, far out there stuff, it's not too much of a surprise he prefers to see it as ephemeral concepts that only mean whatever the viewer interprets, but other people do prefer something a bit more concrete to work with. One thing that has always disti...

Re: Shadowrun Returns free for a limited time

Shadowrun Returns is pretty good and definitely worth picking up. I love the setting of Blade Runner meets Lord of the Rings. Its sequel, Shadowrun: Dragonfall is one of my favorite games ever with pretty much every flaw in the first game fixed and paired with an engaging, emotionally investing story.

Re: Elder Scrolls: VI

Pretty lame to keep reusing the same idea, though. All those Dragon Breaks really need some lampshade hanging in the next game. I'm sure that M'aiq the Liar will have something to say about it. "Dragons keep getting broken. But nobody fixes them. Who knows what would have happened had heroes put th...

Re: The Future of OpenMW Scripting

I guess the question is whether or not it would be easier to have oldscript and newscript as parallel APIs or if it would be better to have an oldscript to newscript conversion process (either during runtime or as part of the mod installation process). My thought is that having parallel APIs that do...

OpenMW code, bug tracker, and wiki are now on GitLab!

One pain point for OpenMW has been that contributing means signing up for multiple accounts. Notably, our repository, bug tracker, and wiki are on completely separate servers with separate login processes. Additionally, some developers prefer GitHub due to its popularity and some prefer GitLab due t...

Re: New Font Implementation

Although I'd avoid things like the Daedric font since they're obviously TES-specific. We'll just say that we're including the language of vampires from the TV show Sanctuary ! :D Seriously, episode 3x16 "Awakening" had involved a character translating ancient vampire text that was a completely unal...

Re: Free-licensed game in OpenMW engine?

If we're arguing the pros and cons of capitalism and copyright systems, rather than free-licensed games in the OpenMW engine, maybe this should be moved to Off-Topic?
