Re: Post 1.0 and tes3mp

I feel like there are a lot of difficult considerations in a situation like this. On one hand, my main priority has been to not distract OpenMW's development in any way, as requested by Zini himself : My main concern is still the same. Dealing with MP at this stage in any way will eat man power that...

Re: "Side-Quests" Sub-forum request

I'm wondering if couldn't re-purpose the TES3MP section for this purpose. Once TES3MP merges back into OpenMW proper, then the sub-forum would vanish anyway (also be merged in). Could we just expand the context to be Bethesda related? Including forks of OpenMW for Oblivion, Skyrim, FO3/NV/4 etc... ...

Re: Post 1.0 Planning Update

First off, the starting point for any conversation should be unconditional and utmost respect for Zini. Here is someone who took what was then a completely dead project and sacrificed 8 years of his life on turning it into one of the most impressive open source engine recreations of all time. Withou...

Re: Maximum Attribute Score

Increasing the attribute cap on your server is simple. Open up mp-stuff\scripts\config.lua and change this line:

Code: Select all

config.maxAttributeValue = 150
Restart the server afterwards.

Re: Server: Connection failed

Is the server running when you try to connect to it? If so, can you show me the contents of your tes3mp-client-default.cfg and tes3mp-server-default.cfg?

Re: Partial journal sharing?

Why iterate through the player-specific previous quests at myMod.lua#L735 ? Instead, you should add this main quest-checking function to myMod.lua somewhere: Methods.IsReceivingMainQuestJournal = function(pid) local mainQuestPrefixes = { "a1", "a2", "b1", "b2", "b3", "b4", "b5", "b6", "b7", "b8", "c...

Re: Partial journal sharing?

At the present though, game doesn't save personal quest progress, other than the main quest. I wonder if that can be achieved with this tes3mp engine version. It's not just possible. It's fairly easy. Save personal quest progress to the Player's data, save main quest progress to the World data, and...

Re: Where is OPENMW_PHYSICS_FPS located?

Also OPENMW_PHYSICS_FPS is for testers and developers, not for gamers. If you do not know how to use it, probably you do not need it. The physics thread is one of the main bottlenecks in OpenMW, and setting OPENMW_PHYSICS_FPS to 40 or 30 provides a quick and somewhat effective solution to it, with ...

Re: tes3mp-server on High Sierra (10.13)

The TES3MP developers have never compiled TES3MP on MacOS, but I imagine it's a problem with linking one of the dependencies. That being said, you're trying to compile version 0.7, which never really got to a playable state, as mentioned in a disclaimer on the repository: https://i.imgur.com/hCbOgJB...

Re: Low FPS while outside (tes3mp)

Can you try setting your OPENMW_PHYSICS_FPS to a lower value like 30 or 20 and reporting back on the results?

OPENMW_PHYSICS_FPS is explained here:
