Hey guys,
It's very technical, but for fun's sake here is a link to a youtube video where the graphics designer talks how they did grass for PoE:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whyJzrVEgVc
They discuss grass at 36:07 and something about precalculated raycasting.

Re: Water shaders, OpenMW vs MGEXE
I think on top of what has already been discussed, the foam would make the single biggest difference, but I can see how it would be super difficult. Adding the foam would be great, but if the project ever gets to that stage it should somehow differentiate cells that are ocean water and cells that a...

Re: (Post 1.0 feature) Randomly-generated dungeons in-game
Sorry for necro'ing this thread, but I'd rather post on a thread that has a similar request than creating an entirely new thread. I would like to request that the dev's add lists for interior's, with an option to use scripts on them; for example randomizing them. What does this request mean? It mean...

Re: Water shaders, OpenMW vs MGEXE
A bit late to the party, but I generally approve of the changes that are being made. For inspiration on really great looking water, I've always loved the Anno 1404 water. It's a bit of a different use case than OpenMW, but I think the transparency near shore in that game is pretty spot on. I think ...

Re: Terrain Tunneling/Arching
Normally height maps can be expressed as a .bmp file, with a 0 - 255 Grayscale value that presents the height (the (z) axis) Thus a darker color is a low altitude and a light color is a high altitude or that is how I understand it. One way to add overhangs, tunnels, ect. is to split the Grayscale im...

Re: EDITOR: Region generation
After deeper investigation, I found the topic that you created that covers this. (Integrated Grass layout tool) Well, if the team is already aware of this request then I'm happy. One a somewhat similar topic of trees, I would like to add another suggestion: After I played a bit on the new rel...

EDITOR: Region generation
For post 1.0 I think we should probably look at implementing region generation so modding on TES3 becomes faster. Not a high priority, but something we must look into.
Edit: Placing each individual tree and rock by hand takes a whole lot of time and is sometimes unnecessary.

Re: Shield Like Oblivion?
That would make unarmored skill the extreme case of light armor skill: it means that the character is good at utilizing small amount of armor (i.e. using a bracelet to "block" (intercept) attacks). it's just yet another MW bug... It's not surprising at all. Just as sirherrbatka said, I be...
