Re: VPN suggestions

http://e.lvme.me/jaa7pj5.jpg I'm a materials engineer and actually learned a lot about how semiconductor devices are made and there is no way a single person would ever have the technical know-how to design a microprocessor and construct it that actually ran at reasonable speeds by today's standard...

Re: VPN suggestions

Events such as? Well, that our dear government decided ISPs should be able to legally collect and sell our information is at the forefront of my mind, but there's also the Krack vulnerability, and I'm an adult with things that can actually be stolen now lol. It seems like every other week some new ...

VPN suggestions

So given several recent events in the US and worldwide, I've become increasingly concerned with my internet security. I've started looking into VPN solutions and figured you all probably have some experience and suggestions. I'm thinking a paid service might be worth it as long as they're cheap simp...

Re: Make loading a save without esm/esp show which ones are missing

Still, it doesn't seem like a bad idea to include this for convenience. It doesn't seem like it would be hard to include, maybe with a statement telling the user where to find the log in case the list of differences is rather large.

Re: Principles and Vision

Remember, we need to finish up OpenMW-CS 1.0 too before we can start with post 1.0 development (beyond bug fixes). Ohhh, see I thought we had totally desynchronized development of the two. I didn't realize we were planning on getting to OpenMW 1.0, then pausing feature development until OpenMW-CS c...

Re: Principles and Vision

I think limiting the bug tracker permissions to the essentials will help increase the signal to noise ratio for developers and decrease confusion among users, so a win win. This applies to feature requests and to setting version numbers, as discussed in that thread. I would prefer to gather all feat...

Re: Windows Glow v1.0 by Colt17 (and all add-ons)

Resources one enjoys wasting are not resources wasted - John Lennon, sort of, but I tweaked it. Lol, appropriate regardless. The texture animation is not a script. It's a NiFlipController, which essentially does the same thing (check the current time and set the correct texture from a list). Making...

Re: Windows Glow v1.0 by Colt17 (and all add-ons)

Maybe we can add a way for glow maps to be automatically picked up with a certain file extension, like we do for normal maps. Using a texture will be more costly than a simple emissive color, but on the flip side you get to make certain parts of the object more glowing than others.. Does this allow...

Re: Using version numbers on the bugtracker

It sounds like you all have a bunch to figure out on the developer end. My only input is that you can't change human behavior, you can only guide it into the outcome that you want. This makes the decision to remove adding a version to the bug reports good. Bug reporters should only have control over...

Re: Wiki geek, playtester

In my conversations with scrawl and psi, we pretty much decided that no actual documentation should reside in the wiki for two main reasons. The first, is the difficulty of keeping both in sync and updated so that when something changes, the two guides don't start contradicting each other. A subset ...
