Re: Lysol's normal mapped texture packs

I like this much better than the totally photorealistic version that the Vanilla Plus guy had. Photorealistic stuff sticks out like a sore thumb in this game because of both the hand painted style and the shitty resolution. In fact, I would say you could try and stylize yours a bit more if you wante...

Re: Improving the FAQ

So I read through it again, and I still like it. My more refined opinion is that this is probably better suited for a general FAQ than my answer was. Mine was meant as much as a preemptive counterargument as it was an FAQ just because I know we've had to argue with people about this in the past. For...

Re: Improving the FAQ

Yep, I like that and agree we should keep lengths capped more consistently unless we have a very good reason. I’d like to give this a proper look through this evening in case I have any more thoughts, but don’t think anything needs to be changed. Also, I’ll go through and see what our typical FAQ le...

Re: Improving the FAQ

Currently writing a guide explaining modding for absolute beginners. May end up just folding it into our current mod installation guide to reduce redundancy, but there is also something to be said for having both a verbose and a quick version of something this important. While writing it, I didn't w...

Re: Parallax maps question

Just trying to understand the scope/significance of this mod. I understand atlasing is putting the component textures onto a single texture file and this is supposed to make things faster. However, isn't this usually an atlas per model? Why is this actually beneficial, less redundant use of VRAM due...

Re: Shadows

I’ll try and test this out in the next few days. It might be worth mentioning that it’s possibly an antialiasing problem. Don’t recall ever having this problem in OpenMW but I distinctly remember Oblivion basically dying with AA on around the Oblivion gates because it was trying to AA the particles....

Re: Wrye Mash for OpenMW -Need omwgame, omwaddon info.

Don’t recall where it was said, but I believe this is actually part of Zini’s master plan. I believe it’s part of his reason for not incorporating a mod manager into the launcher, because it should be moot once this has been implemented. Someone correct me if I’m wrong!

Re: Optional Vanilla Water Shader

I am very much in support of this option. No reason to spend time making multiple versions of something people are going to overwrite anyway.
