3rd person view is enebled by default in 0.46 and I can't find an option to disable it. How can I turn this option off?

I've tired 0.41 and the game's performance drops dramatically. I saw the comments and recommendations about distant terrain but it starts lagging even in main menu! 0.40 runs the game just like vanilla MW runs on Windows via Bootcamp. Openmw crushes on my Macbook with OSX 10.8 installed. Crush log contains the following: "Address not mapped to object (signal 11)". Please advise a solution.
