Re: Need help installing meshes...

OpenMW doesn't look for anything. You tell it where to look in openmw.cfg as I just described. I think you may be missing some critical basic concept here, so I'm not sure how you've previously got mods with an ESP to work. I'm going to point you at this handy guide that should sort you out: https:/...

Re: Need help installing meshes...

If you're using our multiple data directories feature, the data= lines in your openmw.cfg need to point at the data files directory for each mod, i.e. the ones which contain the Icons/Meshes/Textures subdirectories. For the two you've got here, it looks like you need data="C:\Program Files\OpenMW 0....

Re: Typo in the documentation sections of config file?

It's grammatically correct, as it's the page which documents the shader settings, but for all of the other settings pages, the title matches up with the section title in the actual config files, which is [Shaders] instead of [Shader]. Maybe we should just add a line to each settings page that says "...

Re: Issues with Magical Trinkets of Tamriel

If you're using multiple data= lines, when there are assets which appear in multiple data directories, only the version last in the list is available to the game. If this wasn't the case, then replacer mods wouldn't work, so it should be the most intuitive possible behaviour. It's just the launcher ...

Re: Creating 3D models for use with OpenMW

The only advantage we have over vanilla Morrowind right now is that we have support for normal maps (although MGE XE, which is very widely used, hacks this feature into regular Morrowind, too). If you have the ability to use a PBR workflow and then convert your textures to work with a legacy Phong-b...

That's why I said it was in line with the GPL's opinion.

Re: List of (other) FOSS game engine replacement projects

I think the general consensus is pretty much in line with whether or not the GPL's system library exemption applies. It does with the API of an OS or the actual hardware, but it doesn't with middleware like Unity.

Re: New to OpenMW and Modding

It should have pointed to this: https://openmw.readthedocs.io/en/master ... -mods.html

@Lysol: Fix your link!

If Lysol doesn't show up, someone should prompt me to hunt him down separately.

Re: Shadows

But, you do monthly updates to see how it is going or what you've done more or less past month? I tend to write an explanation of nearly everything on the GitHub Shadows PR page whenever I commit any changes, and sometimes when I'm actually investigating stuff I'll post there as I go, too. That's t...

Re: New to OpenMW and Modding

You need to point at the Data Files folder, so data="C:\games\MorrowindMods\MorrowindContainersAnimated\Data Files"
