Re: Hey let's switch away from bullet to anything else

I've heard good things about Newton (Game) Dynamics; http://newtondynamics.com/forum/newton.php Zlib licensed so it should be GPL compatible. Used in - for instance - Frictional Games HPL engine (Penumbra, Amnesia, Soma) So the obvious questions: 1) How ingrained is bullet in OpenMW? Is there any a...

Re: Post 1.0 Plans

It is, but then a fort gets destroyed or a mod adds a new building or tree to a cell, and that whole cell's light data is now invalid and needs regenerating. For the statics-get-changed-by-a-script case, it would be just about feasible for people to mark things in the editor which get modified by s...

Re: openMW(-OP) is on Kickstarter? Err...

The other ones are just there to irritate the "Charity Trolls" ... the kick-starter campaign ... is really just their to irritate some people who bother me. ... Thankfully not everyone is a prick I think the phrase/saying that applies here is, if you think everybody else is an asshole then chances ...

Re: Openmw is the future.

Those who keep their feet on the ground never fly. You should read the story of Icarus. How could you possibly be against a little optimism anyway? Even if you truly believe I'm exaggerating, what do you have to lose from people being enthusiastic about this? It's not a lack of optimism, but to cal...

Re: Openmw is the future.

Openmw multiplayer hasn't been up for a week and in an infantile state. And it's already the most interesting thing that has happened in gaming news this year. According to whom? why is there only one article about this on the internet right now? Oh, to you. Hyperbole. Let's keep feet on the ground...

So when you will start kickstarter campaign?

Bethesda will not do anything, i think.
That's a way to lose everything quickly, by presuming that profit driven IP protecting large companies will never take measures to protect their IP.

Great. Now can we let this thread die now? It is a rather depressing title.
A mod should edit the title to be "is OpenMW dead?"

Re: OpenMW is dead

I for one have given up waiting as it seems there will never be a version 1.0 let alone a 1.1 which I am waiting for to finish my new game. No idea what you are waiting for to finish your game. You could have done most of it already. What specifically is holding you up other than a version number? ...

To what end? How about a fun way to pay homage to the people that worked so hard on OpenMW?

Re: Crisis in Ubuntu land

You just need to dowload some live CDs and try them out. Here's a list of desktop environments sorted by recommendations with basic pros/cons from users: https://www.slant.co/topics/343/~best-linux-desktop-environments Linux Mint has Cinnamon. Bodhi runs with Moksha (an e17 fork). Elementary has Pan...
