Re: Jack Vance's Tales of the Dying Earth
Oh, hell yes! Anything by Vance is worth reading. (OK, the Planet of Adventure books, maybe not quite so much). The Dying Earth books have been hugely influential. You can see that in Morrowind with the multiplicity of spells all doing similar things more or less efficiently and often named for thei...

Re: Elder-scrolls IV Oblivion
Regarding facegen, one possible work around would be to offer presets only, plus an ability to import faces. There's a Wrye Bash function to export the face from a save into an ESP, and presumably the esp face gets added to the preset list. It doesn't help much for new players, but I expect it would...

What are you advertising for?
I mean what do you hope to get from an advert that you don't already have?

Re: Shadow of Rappel
I might have NPCs functional soon, so I´ve been thinking about dialogue structure. Thus far I´ve come up with something along the lines of the following. Click on topic. NPC spits out some dialogue, you then get 4 ways to respond: {Good] [Evil] [Dumb] (low intelligence) {Silent] (say nothing) So yo...

Re: OpenMW Demo suggestion.
I was seriously considering to buy his books, but thanks to this information... I won't. I loaned the first 2 books from a library for free like 10 years ago. I guess he didn´t get any money from me reading them? Anyway, they were alright. Not legendary, but good. There´s a lot of dragon hype. Remi...

Re: Fullscale Game Rebalance Manifesto
Maybe for many people it is immersive to play the game where you can get OP in a couple of seconds using obvious exploits, which the game often even pushes you to use. I can see that. It has it's own merits, especially when making an OP character. Hmmm... factor out the overtones of mild contempt, ...

Re: Fan of evil dead 2?
Just watched the final one. Overall, very good indeed. The cruelty of the deadites and the horror of the cabin had me on the edge of my seat in a way that nothing really has since the first Evil Dead film. Clearly they've been keeping the horror relatively muted in the earlier episodes so they had s...

Re: Fan of evil dead 2?
Also I noticed that every episode is written by a different person. Why do they do this? Won´t it be inconsistent quality of writing? I believe that's the job of the series editor: to make sure the scripts have a more or less uniform style and that they each advance the story arc as a whole. The pr...
