Re: Two bug reports on reddit

It shows up as a magical buff, but as this thread indicates, it doesn't act like magical buffs at all. Showing up as a magical buff is basically a property of the game's UI. The original developers would have just made it a normal buff if they didn't care. They went out of their way to make it not a...

Re: Two bug reports on reddit

It doesn't matter if it seems dumb. It's part of the vanilla game's balance. Ideally you would eliminate the need to minmax endurance to guarantee max health in the first place, but that's mod territory.

Re: 360 degree screenshots?

This is how cubemap generation in some professional game engines, like Source Engine, works. Definitely not just a toy.

Re: Two bug reports on reddit

Wait, no, I mean that the weird behavior - the sign affecting health growth - is the vanilla behavior. OpenMW doesn't have the vanilla behavior here. It's a very weird behavior, but despite that, OpenMW has to use it, even though it doesn't right now. Vanilla pockpicketing and bartering scaling are ...

Re: Two bug reports on reddit

This is a core aspect of vanilla chargen balance so OpenMW pretty much has to use the vanilla behavior here.

Re: Should water refractions be scaled?

If you're using RGB you're already not being physically correct, so just go all out for maximum "looks realistic to me"ness. PBR is primarily about lighting, and Morrowind's vanilla assets can't use PBR style lighting.

Re: Moon and star license?

https://shadow-path.deviantart.com/art/Morrowind-Moon-and-Star-114825230 I just got a new comp with Vista on it and the Morrowind shortcut icon was rather blurry, so I made a new one, from scratch. Took about three hours in Photoshop, the base resolution is 256x256, and I used an icon program to mak...

Re: OpenMW 0.43.0

Do we have any Windows users here who could just test the release package real quick? Or is our Windows user base so small that we can ignore it anyway? I'm a windows user and have no obvious issues. No crashes or major performance regressions or mods stopping working, but I play mostly vanilla. An...

Re: OpenMW 0.43.0

The windows RC is still apparently made with an old version of SDL2 - 2.0.4 - that has annoying input bugs. The very next version of SDL2, 2.0.5, fixes them. The current stable version of SDL2 is 2.0.7. Just dragging and dropping the new SDL2 version into the install directory doesn't seem to break ...

Re: OpenMW 0.43.0

If it's speech and not writing then nobody will really care about mistakes in constructing relative clauses unless they involve an unmarked infinitive, that-elision, or rendering the meaning different than it's supposed to be.
