Re: Water shaders, OpenMW vs MGEXE

Adding the foam would be great, but if the project ever gets to that stage it should somehow differentiate cells that are ocean water and cells that are river water. Difficult indeed. Probably will have to flag cells what type of water it contains or something similar. There are cells where river w...

Re: Worst Race in morrowind?

I've never considered marksman to be a usable weapon skill. The weapons for it are too bad. Maybe if you're roleplaying as an archer it might make sense, but you'd really want to go with a race with a higher base strength in that case so you can carry more loot and arrows, like Dunmer, and Dunmer al...

Re: Worst Race in morrowind?

Bosmer are actually bad though. They waste +15 on a dump weapon skill, marksman; the control creatures power is virtually useless; and disease resistance is actually useless, I have not ever even once been inconvenienced by a disease in Morrowind. The only reason to pick them is if you want 50/50 ba...

Re: Worst Race in morrowind?

I'm surprised that imperial has so many votes honestly. +10 to long blade and +5 to light armor is fine, and having a 25~50 point charm power is really good for players that aren't breaking the game. Altmer is """good""" because of their massive magicka bonus, but you can just go breton and use ench...

Re: OpenMW crashes when recording using OBS game capture

It's OBS's buggy GL hooks. But any change in OpenMW's behavior here would be because of an updated dependency.

Re: Water shaders, OpenMW vs MGEXE

Yeah I was under the impression that dynamic normal map ripples were on the roadmap.

Re: Water shaders, OpenMW vs MGEXE

They're comparing the more-transparency-near-shores that MGEXE has. It's a nice feature. OpenMW doesn't have it right now.

In-engine editors are in vogue lately. Reflex FPS has one.

Re: The Future of OpenMW Scripting

No special-purpose sandboxed embeddable language is going to have general documentation useful for more than incredibly simple things like syntax and how to write an if statement (to exaggerate things). Every last bit of truly useful functionality is going to be defined by how it's hooked into the e...
