Re: Unit Tests?

That's only true with TDD, and TDD is basically incompatible with how game engines need to be designed. Typically, to me, when I see a small number of tests and they never get triggered, that tells me that the project doesn't do enough regression testing - but this is a game engine, so going ingame ...

Re: openMW(-OP) is on Kickstarter? Err...

Even if it doesn't do it directly, creating a mod for a Bethesda game can end up with some of the content from the base game ending up copied to your plugin, so your plugin has ended up infected with Bethesda's copyright from the original game. Yeah, this is a legitimate concern. It's still possibl...

Re: openMW(-OP) is on Kickstarter? Err...

Created from scratch using tools which don't infect it with an incompatible licence This is a myth. It's not possible for the EULAs or licenses of creative tools (level editors, modeling programs) to reassign the copyright of what you create with them. They can make it a breach of contract to use w...

Re: Logic and (&&) is unsupported?

I thought Lua was designed to be sandboxed into a program? I am only peripherally familiar with this feature of it though, so correct me if I am wrong. I thought that's why lots of engines used it for scripting. Lua is like MW's existing scripting in that a Lua script only has available to it the b...

Re: Need help testing PR #1594, which fixes controller issues

1 and 2 don't appear to be mapping-based things. I have a DualShock 4. I tried looking at the mapping to see what might be causing 3). Its shows: - lefttrigger:a3 - righttrigger:a4 Which is correct, and mapping should definitely never use the digital button for triggers since it's hypersensitive, bu...

Re: Need help testing PR #1594, which fixes controller issues

I can confirm that the PR didn't break my already-working controller. I have a couple other observations about controller support, though, unrelated to this PR: 1) It's really hard to walk straight forwards/diagonally. Need real 22.5 degree chunk logic, or "analog emulation" like the steam controlle...

Or use the PR to make a patch that arch can use and ask them to include it. :)
Arch applies as few patches as possible to upstream packages, for better and for worse. This is a case where they would definitely not apply the patch.

Re: Need help testing PR #1594, which fixes controller issues

That commit should be too old to have the PR. Is that what commit it says it is in-game, or is it the one from the image in the nightly's OP?

Looks like it got merged yesterday, so it should be in the most recent nightlies. Let us know how it turns out!
