Re: Moons - replicate Morrowind or lore friendly?

Hiya, I got sick for a couple weeks which set me behind, but I took this data: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EfrNp0GHLYlgR8idLwGiltejD2cDUxhCrC6EwkUjJiw/edit?usp=sharing That data is rather variable - although the times are sort of 'guestimates' since I was using an hourly in-game clock mo...

Re: Good Linux IDE's

Why not use YouCompelteMe for that as well? When I'm typing, I like to use my keyboard for as many things as possible. When I'm not typing (like when I read), I like to use my keyboard as little as possible. I guess I don't like transitioning, in general. I browse a bit erratically, and sometimes I...

Re: Moons - replicate Morrowind or lore friendly?

I agree with what Zini says in that other thread. I think the most fundamental point is that there is quite a bit of evidence that the moons aren't celestial bodies at all - apparently some of the lore refers to the moons as other planes of existence. And trying to apply astronomy to planes of exist...

Re: Moons - replicate Morrowind or lore friendly?

turned up the speed in Morrowind to videotape the moons going by - pretty surprised - the moons seem to follow the same path every night, but they appear at different times each night, in different orders. in order to 100% replicate the vanilla Morrowind we might need hardcoded definitions for each ...

Re: Good Linux IDE's

thanks for the input. I had actually commented out and forgotten youcompleteme and fugitive, haha. enabling youcompleteme increased my vim boot time to about 1 second though, which is kind of awkward :| So I'm using vim for editing and qtcreator for code browsing. I'm curious to try the other sugges...

Moons - replicate Morrowind or lore friendly?

I think the moon bug would be a good starting point for me - most likely just the positioning, not the rendering-side. Before I start into it, I was wondering if my goal should be to replicate Morrowind, or should I look online to find the most definitively lore-friendly moon presentation? Apparentl...

Good Linux IDE's

What are some good IDE's for linux? I like to do most of my editing in gvim, although I usually disable the mouse. I have also used visual studio for a few projects - and it's nice to be able to rightclick a fuction/namespace and go to it's declaration. I haven't needed such a tool on linux yet, but...

Re: openmw-cs hangs after loading data on gentoo

sudo openmw-cs yields the same result. My guess is that there is a prerequisite that I don't have installed.. but I don't have a way of knowing what's missing - I installed everything listed on the wiki. openmw-cs doesn't rely on systemd does it? (that was meant seriously, but i guess it also makes ...

Re: Application: grot

Thanks for the welcome! I am actually pretty interested in working on the CS, actually. My brother and have been huge fans since Daggerfall; I'd like to get him involved in the project - and I'm sure he'd contribute - but he's more of an arts guy. So working on the CS would allow me to collaborate ...

Re: openmw-cs hangs after loading data on gentoo

The latest one, straight from https://github.com/OpenMW/openmw. I installed it within a few hours of posting. Just now, I deleted my local repository and recloned it, rebuilt for a fresh test, and the same error is occurring. I should also mention that if I run openmw-cs from outside of the openmw/b...
