Re: New phone: Android Pie/One or AOSP?

Thanks again for all your help. You've made it so much easier for me to figure things out so far. I'm currently trying to unlock the bootloader, but it seems that there are no "official" methods of doing so (not for a broad swathe of Nokia phones, at least). From what I gather, certain peo...

Re: New phone: Android Pie/One or AOSP?

Thanks for the info! I'd seen references to Lineage OS while researching AOSP, but I wasn't sure what it was and dismissed it. Looking into it more, though, it sounds more along the lines of what I want. Now I'm wishing I'd known this before getting the phone so I could get one that was more readily...

New phone: Android Pie/One or AOSP?

I just got a Nokia 6.1; seems it comes with either Android Pie or Android One. I'm really not keen on Google right now, mostly for security/privacy concerns (I'd have waited for a decent Linux phone if my current phone wasn't breaking down), so I was thinking of wiping the OS and installing AOSP. Ye...

Re: Better handling of mod conflicts and mod merging

Hmm, I haven't entirely thought all of this through, but it seems like the additive/subtractive/multiplicative system only partially solves the problem and creates new ones. I suppose it avoids catastrophic conflicts where things are completely overwritten, but it introduces lots of probably uninte...

Better handling of mod conflicts and mod merging

I know this has been a bit of a contentious topic in the past, and the OpenMW generally doesn't want to be responsible for things like merging leveled lists (as this would lock users into using OpenMW's specific merging method), but I was thinking about some ways that this could be improved. Disclai...

Improving Morrowind's Economy

No, I'm not talking about bringing jobs back to Vvardenfell or reworking trade deals with the Akaviri. My goal is to make the economics of Morrowind more interesting than they are now (not difficult, as they're pretty boring). Now, this presents certain challenges. I'd rather avoid anything that req...

Re: Fatal error: "Failed to create GaphicsContext"

So funny story, when I originally built this PC it was originally a Windows box, and so I wasn't really considering how the hardware would interact with Linux. Here's the thing: I HAD an AMD GPU, because they were a bit cheaper than nVidia cards. When I did install Linux, I found out that AMD cards ...

Re: Natural Character Growth and Decay - An OpenMW Leveling Mod

Something just occurred to me (because I have a pretty good track record of remembering things after they mattered), but if you're updating from an older version of the mod, skill mastery won't carry over. So if you have a skill over 100 then you'll lose the mastery bonuses. For now, the only soluti...

Since I reverted the update, I can play just fine. Not sure what the issue is, but it's not pressing to me.

Re: Natural Character Growth and Decay - An OpenMW Leveling Mod

BEHOLD! I managed to sort out the issue I was having with OpenMW (turns out I had to revert an nvidia update) and completed version 3.1. You can now install ncgdMW on an existing save, including updating from an older version. I've only given this new version minimal testing so far, but it seemed to...
