Re: Manual & Icons
ok, i browsed it. Overally it is good, but please, try to follow settled terminology I'll have to be brought up to speed on that terminology as we go. We need an overall glossary of terms to keep any contributors to the manual who haven't been involved in the development process of OpenMW / OpenCS ...

Re: Manual & Icons
Thanks Zini - I get the distinct feeling you've had to post that in a lot of places... In fact, I'm sure I've read it before! Sorry. On the plus side, cleaning up my mistake and starting again got rid of the "Revert followed by a Revert of the revert", so I won't look quite as silly :D All...

Re: Manual & Icons
A little off topic.. I came across a client simply named "GitHub" that runs on my Windows machine. I think I've sussed it out. Going to try uploading changes and see what happens (apologies for the Revert followed by a Revert of the revert! I was experimenting and it's stuck there now I th...

Re: Manual & Icons
I never really got what a referencable was before I read that pdf :) I wasn't entirely sure either til I wrote it!! Have to rub it in, hm? I know I suck at naming things. But the whole MW terminology is a mess anyway. There is probably not a lot we can do to improve that (besides explaining it in t...

Re: Manual & Icons
I've been playing about with the OpenCS a bit more, and I think I'm beginning to get the hang of it! I believe there was already some documentation on referencables in sirherrbatka's docs, but I've started redocumenting it myself as I mess about with OpenCS to get comfier with the software. There ar...

Re: Manual & Icons
This topic interests me! (and I just learned not to type messages in the forum reply window because it logged me out before posting and I lost the message! Grrrr!!). Anyway - I have LaTeX experience, and approve whole-heartedly of its use in manual construction - it offers the chance to make a beaut...

Re: Scriping feature request
Oh - and on a tenuously related subject - I was intending to look at the MWSE file I/O at somepoint for logging skill increases and other related variables during a complete play-through to help with the figuring out of Morrowinds formulas... but that isn't really applicable to making a case for fil...

Re: Scriping feature request
If the ultimate plan is to implement Oblivion-style AI capability, then yes, this would be largely served by that. And if waypoint objects can be implemented in-game then the need for a separate waypoint file is overcome too. I was linking waypoints to one another in effectively a linked-list/tree s...

Re: Scriping feature request
File I/O was mainly useful to me to implement the waypoint map for my travellers externally - I wrote a program to load up the map of Vvardenfel as generated by morrowind in 256x256 pixel squares (using one of the script commands I don't quite remember the name of) and tesselate them to give a full ...

Scriping feature request
I've been following for a while, and firstly, amazing work folks! Wish I had the time to join in. Anyway I would like to suggest a feature for addition to your scripting language (obviously post 1.0) to go along with MWSE-style file I/O support (assuming you implement such a thing). This request is ...
