Re: Another OpenMW competitor

OpenMW does have a physics system, based on Bullet. Havok and SpeedTree are just libraries used by the game engine. They can be initial 'stubbed' meaning they are placeholders in place and be further worked on and improved. How do you think OpenMW got anywhere? By coding it. ;) Well, not being a pr...

NPC stuck in 0.40.0 - Not my submission

I posted this here in the official BethSoft Forums. This isn't a glitch I found myself but Hul the Argonian in Balmora got stuck in one of the static mesh floors in v0.40.0. I know you guys are working on 0.42.0 but I saw this in Zaric Zhakaron's OpenMW 0.40.0 play-through and wasn't sure if it was ...

Of course not, we can replace those in OpenMW with something else.
How can you replace the Havok physics with something else in the OpenMW engine? OpenMW doesn't use a physics system or speedtree system yet.

Unity for Morrowind?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2B4X2Gq5ZW4 Anybody heard of or know anything about this? Those tree animations and shaders totally outperform MGE XE by leaps and bounds. I'm wondering if OpenMW is able to replicate what this Unity engine is doing. By the way, great job on releasing version 0.40. Yo...

Re: Delay 1.0 untill all of MWSE is implemented

Tamriel Rebuilt and the other province mods like P:C and SHOTN move so slowly in development that it will be 30-40 years before the provinces of Skyrim and Cyrodiil are completed for TESIII. Well, will they ever really be completed? :D One thing I learned about fan projects like these... they ALWAY...

Re: Delay 1.0 untill all of MWSE is implemented

Sure, but most of the workforce is now gone. Hopefully OpenMW will revive it a bit. That's what I'm fearing. Tamriel Rebuilt and the other province mods like P:C and SHOTN move so slowly in development that it will be 30-40 years before the provinces of Skyrim and Cyrodiil are completed for TESIII....

Re: 5K resolution, Quad-SLI and 10-core support?

Of course, it would be great to also think about post-quantum computers support. More seriously : No one has such config If you have 128Gb of RAM, you could just put your whole operating system in it What are you going to do with 10 cores ? OpenMW runs already super-fine on dual ones. What kind of ...

Re: Delay 1.0 untill all of MWSE is implemented

Reviving this thread, on the issue of MWSE and mods that utilize it, people will and should make new mods that do the same thing as MWSE mods.... but better. I suspect that most mods that were made for vanilla will be remade for OpenMW. I yearn for a brand new body replacer with new bones, a new rep...

5K resolution, Quad-SLI and 10-core support?

1) Skylake architecture is out. (Icelake will be out in a few years). Intel has the i7-6950X 10-core with 25MB L3 Cache (20 threads) available now. Undoubtedly, computers will be adding more and more processors. Will OpenMW engine be able to take advantage of multiple cores? Single thread is just ho...
