Infinite view video demo
Hi everyone, just wanted to thank the OpenMW team for continually working on this incredible project! It's amazing how far OpenMW has progressed over the years! I hardly know what OpenMW is capable of still, as I just installed it about 30 minutes ago on a fresh install of Morrowind from GOG.com. I ...

Re: Distant Lands and OpenMW
I have a Patreon, and so do a couple of other developers. Even when I was averaging several hours a day on OpenMW, it wasn't bringing in anywhere close to enough to live on. It's certainly nice to have money that otherwise wouldn't be coming in, but very few people make anything more than a bit of ...

Re: OpenMW Template art
I personally like the walking animation from ESO and Skyrim. I wonder if we could port those. Absolutely not, that would be an intellectual property violation. Only content who's license allows for: copying, redistribution, remixing and be sold; should be considered. Anything without a restrictive ...

Re: OpenMW Template art
Very nice, an up to date animation reference will be invaluable. It's one of the most daunting things to do for new modders. Indeed! Have to plug those documentation holes. On the topic of animations. If your'e interested, Greatness7 actually made a blender plugin to port these animations in from h...

Re: Benchmarks / Hardware Specs
The code that would have to be added is shader visitor support for parameter map autodetection and some shader code. Is that tricky or difficult to figure out how to add in to the base code? Or is it simple but very time consuming? Couldn't someone just copy code that has already been written to su...

Re: Morrowind Playthrough Style Idea
I don't really like playing multiplayer with other people but I like the features of tes3mp, such as time not stopping when in menu mode or dialogue mode, and having a chatbox or some kind of text box to type in while I'm playing. I used that for RP purposes in ESO where I'd type something like &quo...

Re: Benchmarks / Hardware Specs
Basically, stuff has to happen engine-side before the PBR materials in those mods can be handled properly in-game. OpenMW doesn't create PBR materials themselves, in the same way it doesn't generate normal maps; that is the domain of content creators. Once PBR is properly supported, we will probabl...
