Re: The history / roots of the Morrowind engine
Is it true that Bethesda used Daggerfall's XnGine before switching to NetImmerse in 1999? As far as I've heard, it was only very early prototype work they did with the Xngine. When they started actually working on Morrowind in earnest, it was with NetImmerse. I think these old screenshots may in fa...

Or more simply "There is no guarantee of forward compatibility of saves with future versions of OpenMW."

Re: Werewolf Field of View
Compute the ratio between the given Morrowind.ini value for FOV and the standard normal Morrowind FOV; and apply that ratio to the user's chosen FOV when in Werewolf mode. That is to say: Morrowind's normal FOV is (if I'm not mistaken) 75. By default, the Morrowind.ini value for Werewolf FOV is 100 ...

Re: Moving openmw off zinis github
* We can port our wiki over to github, one less moving part * Use github's issue/milestone tracking system instead of current one (we can port the issues) Wiki: I think it's a bad idea. Github's wiki functionality is great if you don't have a wiki already and don't care to set one up, but with a wo...

Re: [post-1.0] Scripting enhancemnts
If you have to have support for several different scripting languages, it's better to keep them separate rather than try to make One Grand Unified Script VM which would automatically identify the language and interpret it correctly. De la même fashion, es ist more simple to verstehen une phrase writ...

Re: OpenMW on RockPaperShotgun
It’s testament to the game’s appeal that people are so desperate to stop it from aging into obscurity. There’s precious few attempts to do the same for Oblivion. I wouldn't be too surprised if after OpenMW reaches completion, it is forked and used as a base to make an OpenOB. Which in turn could th...

Re: Openmw and Skywind
I wouldn't mind Havok physics if it was something that could be enabled or disabled on a per-cell basis. Dungeon or wilderness? Go hog wild, let shit fly! Towns and houses, though? Be quiet and leave things where they are. As for Morrowind's vanilla assets -- personally, I'm fine with everything van...

Last time I saw a Tapatalk request on a forum, it didn't end well.
Re: 2014
Just popping in to say I've been impressed by the quick pace of progress recently. Magic! Saves! Cliff Racers!
Also loose files are annoying (even if necessary for backward compatibility), but being able to use more convenient formats than BSA (like, say, zip files) would be very great.

Re: Editing wordpress post eats videos
It's probably a permission issue. I don't have much experience with wordpress, but I know on Joomla with default security settings, you have to be not just admin but Super-Admin (tada!) to be allowed embeds. Otherwise, any <iframe>, <applet>, or <embed> tags are stripped out when saving.
