I would be very interested to know if the new OSG implementation is faster than the Vanilla engine or not?
It depends. Unmodded or not? Etc.

Re: Hey let's switch away from bullet to anything else (discussion)

Capsules cause serious issues with vanilla level design because they have steep sloped parts on them. I was initially considering cylinders or octagonal prisms but we decided that AABBs, like Morrowind itself uses, are the best. It's probably best to not consider non-AABB shapes until post-1.0. Why...

Re: Editor manual outdated in downloads

Speaking of relics, when we updated the downloads page, we should probably have renamed the OpenCS section to OpenMW-CS (although honestly, the first seems more elegant, why did we decide to go away from that?). http://forum.openmw.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1885&p=19944#p19971 OpenCS could just as we...

Re: Application: Ferduun

I'd like to help with the project, probably on the OpenMW-CS side of things To quote a danish actor in a famous fantasy movie: You are most welcome. Have you read through the developer checklist ? There are some important instructions there on how to get you started, like getting a development envi...

Re: A kind of crazy idea

Well, I'm happy with that too, otherwise I wouldn't even be here. And I'm not really into having a 1:1 scale either. I'm just saying that the terrain of Vvardenfell could be done better if it were a little bit bigger.

Re: A kind of crazy idea

We would get more bang for our buck working on filling out the rest of Tamriel. (Yeah, everyone dreams of that.) A full Tamriel map at the current MW scale would take long enough in real world time to cross, like an hour depending. I'm just starting to look into what it would take to convert the Ob...

Re: A kind of crazy idea

Huh, I was sure that limitation was never built into OpenMW. But of course, the esm format limits stuff too.

Does OpenMW suffer from these limitations? Would it be difficult to overcome if it does?
Nope, it does not. It's just another one of those cool features that has always been present in OpenMW, but without any content to show it with.
