Re: Shadows

It is a professional mailing list that is the heart of the matter. Whatever, we either deal with it or leave it alone. Their ball.

Let's face it, we're just a bunch of hobbyist here... at least until someone starts making money off OpenMW as an engine at least. ;)

Replied: http://forum.openscenegraph.org/viewtopic.php?p=72036 It appears there is a bridge between the forums and the mailing list: http://lists.openscenegraph.org/listinfo.cgi/osg-users-openscenegraph.org He replies to the ML and it is strict there. Re: Shadows

I would never support anything with a lead like that, and would actively go out of my way to avoid using his product. I suppose it's a good thing I lost interest in software development, haha. I'll just let y'all deal with him, and I'll keep reaping the benefits. Keep in mind that these peopl...

Re: News of great things to come

For example, my business is called MindWerks (MW), so the barrier to entry in claiming trademark is incredibly high. OpenMW isn't OpenMorrowind, which would be legally risky. Besides, if you use OpenMW as an eng...

Re: Generic nif engine importer for openmw

I would love (and prefer) to see OpenGEX, glTF 2.0 and collada support be included.

That doesn't help OpenMW being used to play Oblivion or Skyrim however. If people want to spend their time implementing/extending our NIF format, I say go ahead. It's a neat technical challenge.

Re: Generic nif engine importer for openmw

Unfortunately, Bethesda has stated they don't want assets ported between games which makes any specific support of Oblivion or Skyrim on our part risky (whereas supporting 'any' NIF file would be less risky, but too much work with no endgoal). I've discussed this at length in another thread, but th...
