Re: Recent Negativity Regarding OpenMW

Progress is directly correlated to how many people are working on the project. Some times it's not very much and sometimes it comes in bursts. FOSS isn't like a game development studio where you have deadlines and people who are salleried to work on a project for 40~60 hours a weak with many others....

Re: Deprecating Ubuntu Trusty Builds

Ubuntu 18.04 is Xorg by default, but on the login screen there's a button you can press to use Wayland. I think 17.10 was Wayland and 18.10 is definitely Wayland (both with Xorg buttons on the login screen) but IIRC they discovered a couple of bugs with the Wayland setup shortly before the 18.04 re...

Re: Body and Face replacer compatibility issues (Arch OSG-3.6 compatibility issues)

I believe that is because OpenMW is compiled against OSG3.6, just swapping out libs isn't going to do much there sadly.

Re: Deprecating Ubuntu Trusty Builds

Not a Gnome3 (the new default) fan? :) I'm glad they finally ditched Unity and Upstart, they even default to using Wayland but give you the option to still use Xorg.

Re: Deprecating Ubuntu Trusty Builds

Here is a PR with Travis-CI updated for Xenial: https://github.com/OpenMW/openmw/pull/2038 Next steps here is to figure out a general way to get these success builds, for master (after a PR has been merged) and nightlies up to downloads.openmw.org so that we have something for people to test if they...

Re: Body and Face replacer compatibility issues

I can't really help you as I don't use Arch, but I'm sure someone here does. You should talk to the OSG package maintainer for Arch and see if they can start packages OSG by version, not all applications are ready to migrate away from 3.2 or 3.4 to new versions. Talk with the OpenMW maintainer to pe...

Re: Body and Face replacer compatibility issues

The osg-3.2, 3.4 and 3.6 Debian/Ubuntu packages are meant to be installed side-by-side so they can co-exist. It is up to the builder to pick which one they are to use.

So if you build from source, you'll have to point it to the right directory. I wouldn't mix and match.

Re: Body and Face replacer compatibility issues

the experimental osg-3.6 package in ppa:openmw/staging is 3.6.3, so OpenMW will crash sooner or later... the hope is that if there is a patch forthcoming we can do a quick turn-around by rebuilding.

Re: OpenMW 0.46.0

What are the blockers for Shadows right now? Are they still what is listed in the PR at the top?
