Re: Constant 60 FPS but annoying micro-stuttering

That is why I said that the HD Vanilla (and other high-res texture replaces) might be an issue. We've seen in other threads people who have a buttery smooth experience with vanilla textures then go to 1K and 4K textures then see micro-stuttering happen. Can you confirm that even with your mods that ...

About textures mods, in both cases I'm using :
- HD Vanilla textures
- VanillaPlus textures mod (Purist version)
I'm noticing a trend here, if you disable those two mods... do you still get stuttering?

Re: OpenMW’s mb/s data load rate?

This is already done via scrawl's cell pre-loading, including doors into interiors and other activators. You shouldn't ever see a cell loading screen... at least I've haven't seen one in a very long time and my hardware is 4+ years old. And from what I remember, we do scene culling... no point in re...

Re: OpenMW’s mb/s data load rate?

Hopefully, we'll have a fast BA2-style archive format by then that Morrowind can be repackaged in, and if that's the case, the only limit will be the power of your machine. I believe BSA archives already support compressed files? If my BSA changes are merged in OpenMW can already support it. Over t...

Re: Recent Negativity Regarding OpenMW

Progress is directly correlated to how many people are working on the project. Some times it's not very much and sometimes it comes in bursts. FOSS isn't like a game development studio where you have deadlines and people who are salleried to work on a project for 40~60 hours a weak with many others....

Re: Deprecating Ubuntu Trusty Builds

Ubuntu 18.04 is Xorg by default, but on the login screen there's a button you can press to use Wayland. I think 17.10 was Wayland and 18.10 is definitely Wayland (both with Xorg buttons on the login screen) but IIRC they discovered a couple of bugs with the Wayland setup shortly before the 18.04 re...

Re: Body and Face replacer compatibility issues (Arch OSG-3.6 compatibility issues)

I believe that is because OpenMW is compiled against OSG3.6, just swapping out libs isn't going to do much there sadly.

Re: Deprecating Ubuntu Trusty Builds

Not a Gnome3 (the new default) fan? :) I'm glad they finally ditched Unity and Upstart, they even default to using Wayland but give you the option to still use Xorg.

Re: Deprecating Ubuntu Trusty Builds

Here is a PR with Travis-CI updated for Xenial: https://github.com/OpenMW/openmw/pull/2038 Next steps here is to figure out a general way to get these success builds, for master (after a PR has been merged) and nightlies up to downloads.openmw.org so that we have something for people to test if they...
